Myrto Talakoudi

Myrto Talakoudi received her cello Diploma with honors with Professor M. Kasambakas from the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki and continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany under the tutelage of Professors Christof Henkel and Adriana Contino. In 2010 she completed postgraduate studies at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in the class of Distinguished Professor Janos Starker. Following her studies, she also received coaching on baroque cello with Christine Kyprianides and Susanne Wahmhoff. Myrto Talakoudi is a recipient of numerous scholarships, such as the Megaron of Athens, the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and the Eva Heinitz Fellowship. She has participated in masterclasses with Rafaell Wallfisch, Mats Rondin, Matthias Ranft, Renato Ripo, Dimitris Patras, Marc Coppey, Milan Vitek, Emil Naumoff, etc. In 2000, 2001 and 2003 she was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra, performing with renowned conductors and soloists throughout Europe and Brazil. As an orchestral player, Myrto Talakoudi has performed with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra and the Athens Camerata, she held the position of principal cellist of the Greek National Opera and worked for four years at the Chemnitz Opera House (Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie) and the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen in Germany. She teaches cello at conservatories in Thessaloniki, collaborates with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Thessaloniki and is a member of the Salonicco string quartet.
