Born in Thessaloniki, Nafsika Tsara started her flute studies next to Ilie Macovei at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and she graduated with distinction. She went on to study in the class of Jean Ferrandis at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. As a scholar of “Megaron Moussikis” foundation, she obtained her Diplôme Supérieur d’ Enseignement and her Diplôme Supérieur d’ Exécution. In addition, she studied chamber music next to Marie-Pierre Soma and Geneviève Martigny, she was part of the cycles Perfectionnement and Concertiste and attended numerous flute and chamber music masterclasses. She studied Musicology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Nafsika has won international flute and chamber music competitions – such as UFAM and Roger Bourdin. She has also been awarded by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the European Union for her outstanding performance.
As a soloist, Nafsika has performed with the Athens State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lisa Xanthopoulou, and has given numerous solo recitals in Greece, France, Italy and Japan. As a flutist and piccolo player, she has collaborated with various symphony orchestras and chamber music ensembles in France and Greece.
