Stefan Ali was born in Albania in 1983. He started his musical studies at the age of 7 at the Musical School of Gjirokaster in the class of Violin with Professor Gj. Spiri. He continued in Greece at the “Tsakalof” Conservatory of Ioannina, where he acquired the Violin Diploma with Excellent in 2002 (class of Gj. Spiri). In 2005 he was admitted at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki in the viola class of K. Mitropoulou and in 2010 he received his Viola Diploma with Honours.
He attended master classes of violin and viola with professors: Ch.Polyzoidis, G.Hamman, S.Papanas, Ch.Seira, V.Andonov, W.Kossjanenko C.Cernat, W.Mendhelsson, M.Zemtsov, S.A.Tepl, M.Dispa, R.Wolfe.
At the age of 10, he won the 2nd Price at the “Siri Shapllo” Competition of Gjirokaster (Albania), for ages 10 to 18 years old. He was also distinguished many times at the Pan-Hellenic Musical School Competitions (Greece).
He was the Principal violist of Thessaloniki Youth State Orchestra and also a member of Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. Since 2005 he is member of the Kalamaria Symphony Orchestra. In 2008 he toured throughout France with the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, where he was also the Principal violist. From 2012 he is member of Contra Tempo chamber orchestra.
He is currently a graduating student of the Musical Department Studies of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
